Meal Service has a staffing pool with currently 11 positions. As an employee in the staffing pool, you will have the opportunity to work in various kitchens with varying tasks. There are finishing kitchens, cooking kitchens, and production kitchens, meaning you will work both independently and in small or large groups. As an employee in the staffing pool, you cover for short-term absences. You will receive a varied and interesting assignment with the opportunity to contribute to the development of Meal Service's operations.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities include preparing or finishing and serving the day's different lunch options, preparing a varied salad buffet, as well as preparing/cooking and serving breakfast and snacks (including options adapted for children requiring special diets). You are responsible for safe food handling, self-control, good hygiene, dishwashing, and cleaning in the kitchen; cleaning at preschools may also occur. Additionally, ordering food from the production kitchen and ordering goods in the municipality's e-commerce system may be included depending on the kitchen. In addition to food and dairy products, cleaning supplies, disposable materials, and chemicals are ordered. Current agreements must be followed. In daily work, there is dialogue with both educators and children; therefore, a good attitude towards guests is significant.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have a restaurant education at the upper secondary level or equivalent education deemed suitable by the employer and/or documented experience as a cook or meal service staff in large-scale kitchens and/or restaurants. Sufficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, for safe handling in large-scale kitchens. Good computer skills and knowledge of the programs used in the work are meritorious. Kitchen work is physically demanding and sometimes heavy, requiring good physical fitness.

You have the ability to adapt the work to the needs of the operation and have a holistic view of the assignment. You follow the dietary policy guidelines and current routines and work towards set goals. You are professional and service-oriented and responsive to guests' wishes. You are flexible and can work both independently and in a group. You are accustomed to organizing and performing your work independently and actively contribute to a good work climate as well as knowledge exchange both within the work group and with other professions.

More about the position

Summer position Monday-Friday, full-time equivalent 40 hours/week.

A Class B driver's license and access to a car are required for the position.

Start date 2026-10-01 or as agreed.

Probationary period may apply.
